Forms should be used to gather user information which results in a positive outcome for the user. This could be registering for an event, subscribing to a newsletter, registering interest for further information, or just an alternative to contact a person via form rather than drafting an email.
Forms should be kept as short as possible and only collect the most essential information. The longer the form and the more personal the information will negatively affect the user experience and result in users hesitating to provide the information and complete the form.
This is the standard form layout that will usually require it’s own page and should be used when a lot of information is required.
The inline form is short and quick to complete and is perfect for when you only require a few pieces of information.
